Invisible Chains

Logline: After her fiancé is murdered in a staged mugging, a brilliant forensic psychologist struggling with grief is drawn back into the orbit of her obsessive college ex — whose renewed charm hides a dangerous fixation that threatens her sanity, freedom, and life.

Short Description: INVISIBLE CHAINS is a tense psychological thriller about love, loss, and the terrifying power of control. Kate Daley, still shattered two years after her fiancé’s murder, begins to reemerge from isolation just as she runs into Jaime, the man who once wanted to marry her. Their chemistry is undeniable, and for a moment, Kate dares to believe in a second chance. But Jaime’s perfect timing, intimate knowledge of her life, and subtle manipulations soon give way to a darker truth — one that forces Kate to confront not just him, but the invisible chains of her own grief before they pull her under completely.

Writer’s Note: This story is built to operate on two levels: a suspense thriller about obsession and control, and a character study about grief, agency, and recovery. Kate’s journey is deeply personal — she must not only outwit Jaime, but also reclaim her own autonomy and redefine what “moving on” means. The pacing is deliberate: a slow reawakening that becomes a taut psychological chess match. By rooting the film in grounded forensic detail and emotional realism, we wanted to create a thriller where every choice Kate makes feels earned, and every revelation lands like a punch to the gut.
